All meals for children apart from morning snack will need to be provided by parents and must be healthy, nutritious and low in sugar content. We have a no nut policy at Rosewood Nursery due to protecting children with allergies, we also strongly discourage chocolate.
Eating, Resting and Toileting:
Care routines form an important part of everyday nursery life. The children will eat in a family style manner with all children and teachers siting down and eating together. The children are also encouraged to prepare the cafeteria at mealtimes by setting the table with cutlery, place mats and crockery. During morning snack the children will enjoy the snack time at the rolling snack bar. The older children are encouraged to prepare their own fruit and vegetables at the snack bar area which develops fine motor skills as well as helping them to be more aware of healthy eating.
Each Class daily routine may change during an academic term as the routine focuses on the children’s needs and how best to support them. When the seasons change the children may spend more time participating in outdoor learning. If we find the children are gaining more in their overall development from certain types of activities the routine may also be changed due to this matter. Parents and careers will be promptly updated on any changes and the reasons for doing so.
Water play Day:
Parents will be advised in advance of their child’s water play days; suitable swimwear and a towel are required on these days Nursery is a fun place full of interesting things to do. Your child will get messy and this is a part of their learning and their joy.
